An Open Letter on Central High School

I’m sure you had your reasons for the way you handled today’s events, I just don’t understand them. I’m getting ahead of myself though.

Let’s start at the beginning

Today was the retreat for juniors in full IB. Since I am not in full IB, this was looking to be a pretty easy day. I was one of the first people to arrive to my fifth block Psych class (it’s around 11:15). Our teacher was gone and, according to the substitute, had nothing planned for class. I sat down and started talking to some friends.

Ten minutes into class, I overhear someone else say the word “gunshot”. Naturally, I’m curious and I ask what she’s talking about. She tells me that during passing period a backpack was dropped off the balcony and a loud “pop” was heard. Some people thought it was a balloon or a bag or chips but others argued it was too loud for that. Overall, we were confused. It seemed that if a gun really had gone off we would be in lock-down. Several people left class and came back reporting several officers by the main office. Something was up.

Then someone’s cell rang. He listened for a moment and then told us

"It’s my mom, she just received an alert saying a gun went off at school."

As you can imagine, this was a surprise. We had all thought that if a gun really had gone off we would be the first to know. Not long after we noticed several local news stations had reported the incident, but there was still no word to the students.

After lunch it is made painfully clear that a lot of people are still totally in the dark about what happened, so I start to tweet everything I know.

It was confirmed through several teachers that they were told not to say anything about it. A friend of mine, who teaches at another school, told me that they are legally obligated not to.
At this point I also linked to several other news reports on the subject. They all said pretty much what we had pieced together from our eye witness account. A gun went off and they had arrested someone. There wasn’t a lot of information out there but the fact is that they released it to the public before they released it to us. At the time, I was more understanding than I am now.

It was clear they wanted classes to resume as normal and they did. Or at least they resumed as normal as they can with rumors flying left and right. As one student put it:

At this point nothing new was really coming in. We couldn’t tune into the news conference and none of the websites provided any updates. Nearly two hours had passed since the gun went off and there had still been no announcement.
Finally at around 1:30, they released an official statement. It was obviously being read and we would find out only a few minutes where it was being read from.

This letter bothered me. There was no new information, I had already learned this through eye witness accounts and parent info. My dad even emailed me the message he had got after it happened.

So why did they wait two hours to let us in the loop? And if they were waiting for more information then why was anyone informed at all?
At the end of the day I was told that several people had been called down to the office an told to delete their tweets on the subject. Presumably this was too get rid of any speculation but at this point I don’t even know.

And if we ever do find out what exactly happened, it seems we’ll be the last to know.

Erika Wallace (or It's a Small Small World)

It's been a while, I will admit that. Here's a story for you all.

Two summers ago I went to an improv workshop. While I was there the instructor told me a story about the time he made a fake eHarmony account under the name Erika Wallace and basically messed with people. Fast forward a year and I get a friend request on Facebook from none other than, Erika Wallace. I don't accept but I don't refuse either, vaguely wondering if this is related at all to the story I had been told.

As it turns out, yes. I was going to that same camp that summer and the next day during break I see him talking to another teacher about something on the computer. I take a shot in the dark.

"Did you get a friend request from Erika Wallace too?"

He's surprised. "Yeah!" He answers. "Do you know who it is?" I don't. We suspect it was one of the other kids from last year and move on. Sort of...I don't forget Erika. I look at the request every single time I get on Facebook. Erika and I have a mutual friend. She went to the camp as well, so I don't think too much of it. Still I am unwilling to answer the request. It stays pending for months.

Then, today I see the number has changed.

Two Mutual Friends

Further inspection shows the unexpected. Earlier in the year I had come across a girl on Lamar's swim team who I had wanted to befriend. I tried to be cool but instead I had just been incredibly awkward. She was nice about the whole thing. We became Facebook friends (A step up from acquaintances). I take in the new information.

It's enough. I accept the request.

You Thought I Exploded Didn't You?

Well if you did, you weren't paying attention to that Twitter widget. Or the more likely situation, you weren't reading my blog.

Yeah as it turns out there was no bomb. Just a lot of terrible bomb puns. One of which was myself remarking how I was going to die in math class, thus going out with an algerBANG.

...I probably deserved to blow up for that one...

I'd blame the lack of updates on the musical but that wouldn't be fair. Yes I have been spending a lot of time working on the musical. No that isn't the reason for my blogging absence. I'm just really bad at consistently updating things.

Here. Have this picture

teen beach movie was fantastic don't talk to me

Of Clones and Stick Figures

If you haven't watched Orphan Black,

Um...Why not? It's amazing. Go! I'll wait.

...

...

...

You back? Never left? That's cool. Whatever...

Anyways a few days after I finished Orphan Black I wondered if there was any way I could get involved with the fandom. I mean with Warehouse ending I just wanted to make sure I was a part of something else. My problem was, and always had been, I really don't have much to offer. I mean I can draw, but not people. I'm capable of writing but I really don't have the time during the school year. I was about to give up when an idea came to me.

In an attempt to reach out to the Warehouse fandom, I had created a blog called poorlydrawnwereherse. It was essentially comics made up of really poorly drawn stick figures. each comic had it's own little joke that would poke fun at the characters or the show. The fandom had really liked it but Warehouse fans are few in the grand scheme of things. Not to mention most fans are shippers and I have no ships in Warehouse 13. I didn't particularly prioritize the blog and it kind of fell to the wayside.

I figured Orphan Black's larger fanbase would probably like a similar blog. I knew I could get a large following but it would take some time and a lot of comics before that would happen. My eventual goal was to be featured on the official Orphan Black tumblr. With this in mind, I gave each character a stick figure equivalent, wrote a few comics and launched poorlydrawnorphanblack.

There were a few miscalculations however.

1. Orphan Black is a larger fanbase, that is true, but I didn't quite realize HOW large. The show averaged about 400,000 viewers an episode for the first four episodes and the numbers only went up from there. (The Renew Warehouse 13 online survey averaged about 4,500 viewers)

2. Despite it's massive size, The Clone Club is rather tightly knit. Meaning, stuff travels way faster than in the Warehouse 13 fandom.

Within the first 24 hours my little blog had 5 posts and 74 followers. As my tiny queue drained more followers trickled in to tell me their thoughts.

I figured it was a success and drew a few more comics. And then on the third day of the blog's existence I got a message. Essentially is told me to go check out the Orphan Black tumblr. Here is what I found.

I was beyond shocked.

I had made 17 posts at this point, this reblog was WAAAAAAAY ahead of my schedule.

Not to mention this was not JUST a reblog. It was a shout-out!

Suddenly I didn't have a hundred people to keep happy. The number skyrocketed. Not to mention the positive responses

started coming in

LIKE CRAZY!

As days went by I got more requests in 24 hours than i'd seen in my entire YEAR running poorlydrawnwereherse! Here is the stats for the last month.

Tumblr couldn't handle all the new followers they should all be new.
Yeah. That graph is showing NOTES.

The followers are still coming in each day.* And the requests follow.

I had never anticipated such an amazing reaction to my idea. It's mind boggling.

I've officially deemed this my job, after school of course**, and I don't get free-time until I've worked on it. And I plan to work on it every single day. I may lose a little sleep, but for a fandom and a show this amazing?

It's worth it.

*In the hour or so it took to write this post I gained two followers
**Today was actually the first day of school. You might get a post about the first two days tomorrow.

Three Hannahs and a T-Bird

I know a lot of people named Hannah.

That's not really surprising, Hannah isn't a particularly uncommon name. Most people know a Hannah. Most Hannahs know a Hannah.

But relatively speaking, I know quite a few people named Hannah. I'm only going to talk about three though.

I'm not going to bother with last names, heck, I haven't even mentioned my name on this blog so we'll just stick with Hannah.

In elementary school I knew a girl named Hannah.

She was extremely tall for her age. I think she played basketball too. For all purposes let's call her Big Hannah.

But Big Hannah wasn't really all that great at making friends. Most people didn't really hang out with her that much. At the moment, I can't remember why. But odds are she was annoying.

I'm not saying Big Hannah and I were best friends. We weren't even friends. I was nice to her when she talked to me, and she was...herself. When I left my regular school system to go to a special 5th grade, ended up changing my educational track for good.

I haven't seen her since.

I saw Hannah O yesterday. I saw her for the first time in months the day before that.

Hannah O is a volunteer at WOW with me. She also went to that special fifth grade I talked about, but she went the year after I did. Being from the first crop of volunteers is hard, most of the friends you made at the start are gone. Not to mention everyone is younger than you.

Thankfully there are always some good kids. I met Hannah O during a summer when I had a lot of freetime. We started an easy friendship and always managed to balance a good amount of work and fun. One day during a camp we made up a ridiculous dance routine for the kids. They didn't appreciate as much as we did, but it was still fun.

At one point her iPhone pass code was SWAG. I have yet to see if this is still the case.

Anyways, I got busy. Between swimming and plays I didn't have much time to volunteer during the school year. I forgot about Hannah O.

Monday I walked back into the animal room. I wasn't particularly excited about work, I had done a few programs last week and had found no one to really talk to.

Now, I should say no one was all that excited to see me either. I got a few "I haven't seen you in awhile"s and "Nice to  see you" comments. But I mean nobody was thrilled. Which is reasonable, since most were from the forth or fifth crop and didn't know me anyways.

But when I walked back into the animal room Monday, Hannah O was more than happy to see me.

And I was more than happy to see her. We hung around all that day, as well as the next.

I don't know if I'll be working much this school year, but if I am, I hope it's with Hannah O.

If there is one person I am going to be glad to see come school next week it's Hannah. (This Hannah doesn't need nicknames because she's Hannah. That's all there is to it)

I'll be glad to see a lot of people. But Hannah is going to be the person I resist tackling on the first day back.

Hannah and I met in drama.

You know how every time you enter a new group there is always one or two people you want to get to know? Hannah was that person. Lucky for me it was mutual. Pretty soon Hannah, Sasha*, and I became convinced we were actually the same person. At semester we all moved up to drama two together. We rocked the IMPROV club. We were unstoppable. Well until puppets anyways but I won't go there.

Hannah is one of the few people in this world I am capable of texting back in a timely matter. Hannah might even say I am a little too capable. (One time I walked away from Hannah and started texting as I walked away.)

Hannah may or may not be developing a biological need for wintergreen mints. This may or may not be my fault. She might also be in constant need of a back scratch. This is probably my fault.

One time Hannah fell asleep on me. Despite this she will not let me sleep on her, I figure it's gonna happen anyways.

Hannah also ties my shoes for me which is nice because I like making people tie my shoes.

I like Hannah.

In fact the more I think about things to say about Hannah the more I realize I will probably accidentally tackle hug her.

There you have it. The Hannah I never knew, The Hannah I almost forgot, and The Hannah I can't wait to see again.

*You guys know Sasha. I'm positive I've mentioned her a few times...

Beyond Needing

Hey! I'm back! Physical keyboard with clicky keys and all. Man it's nice to have a laptop let me tell ya...

Anywho, I just got to say it's a horrible time to be a gamer with no money. Because this is an awesome year for games. What with all the next gen consoles and last hurrah games coming out everywhere.

My main issue with this whole video game business is I never jumped on the next gen train. I mean, I've got a PlayStation 2, a Wii, and a DSi. Yeah they don't really make cool games for those anymore. I've been fine with that for a while. Steam is there for me if I want a game and I could always mess around on my brother's Xbox if I really wanted to. Of course all good things must come to an end, and they did by way of mail.

Enter Game Informer. My brother subscribes to it and it's always fun to flip around and look at games before he can actually read the thing. Normally nothing really catches my eye. I mean there was Skyward Sword and Quantum Conundrum but that was an easy fix.

It started with The Last of Us.

A super realistic zombie apocalypse with an ultra-rad adopted daughter complex going on?

Hell yeah.

It's unfortunately a PS3 exclusive so that dream was shot pretty quickly. I promised myself I'd keep an eye on it though. A few months later, however, The Last of Us crawled out of it's grave and this time it brought a friend.

So what do you get when you take Ellen Page, angst, amazing graphics, and a pinch of supernatural what-now?

Beyond: Two Souls

don't even look at me
Yeah they basically put everything I could ever want in a game...IN A GAME!

So what's the catch then? That's right. PS3 ONLY.

So I guess this means I'm going to move on then.

No really...I can't afford this I need to move on...

I can't

stop

GOD DAMMIT I NEED THIS.

Thunderbird and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Collection of Events

Alternate Blog Post Title: A Series of Unfortunate Events

So I turned 15 back in January. I proceeded to break my iPod. And then a bunch of other kinda sucky things happened.

Dang it. This was supposed to be a really angry post. I'm too passive aggressive for this crap. I am Canada.

Today I spilled soda on my homework. Which really just...blergehgekjshdkashdk

That's alright though. I've got a pretty big ray of light shining through the clouds in that my relay made state!

Woo swimming!

I know what all you seasoned readers are thinking "Hey didn't you quit swimming like forever ago?"

Yes. But I was kinda sorta forced on to the high school team and well, as it turns out my competitive edge was never REALLY dull.

I will really attempt to update this blog more often...jeesh....

Bus Hero

So this week I've been getting in a little extra exercise.

I have been chasing my friend Sam's bus, bus 130, as it leaves school.

It started out as a joke between me and Sam. But today I think it might be something more.

On every other day I've been chasing it, someone chased it with me. Today however, I was alone.

I stood outside the bus waiting for it to leave. I keep hearing cheers and people were raising their hands which gave me the impression bus 130 was different from my old bus 22-11.* When it finally got going I walked along side it. The bus sped up and I jogged with it.

Suddenly it stopped.

I was used to this. It takes the bus awhile sometimes to pull out of the lane and onto the street.

It started again. I followed.

The bus stopped. I stopped.

The bus speeds up and I'm running to catch up as soon as I do, the bus stops again.

I look over and see the bus driver laughing. All the kids are watching me through the window. My little joke with Sam has gained some attention.

The bus speeds up for the final time and I run with it till it reaches the stoplight. Of course, the light was red so I got to stand there as a bus full of kids cheered me on and waved. A few of them even knew my name it seems because as the light turned green they called it out as they passed.

I wonder what they'll think when I do it again on Monday.

*That actually didn't surprise me. Bus 22-11 was pretty crazy. But that's another post...

P.E.

This post jumps topic a bunch, sorry. I was just reading Life of Pi and then I took a two hour nap so I'm kind of...I don't know, out there?

When there is no one around for me to talk to, I people watch.

I eavesdrop on conversations and I watch the way people interact with one another.

It's an interesting way to pass time really. And it's how I normally spend PE.

On the first day of school I made a prediction about two of my peers. It wasn't exactly a random guess, I had been listening to them talk all hour and I had gathered enough info.

My prediction was that the girl would leave her boyfriend who lived far away to be with this guy. She'd stop doing the distance thing in favor of what was right in front of her.

Each day since then I've watched their interactions and seen if there was any truth in my prediction.
I'll admit that there has been.

But predicting the love life of a teenager isn't terribly hard, so that's not the only thing I do.

These first few weeks we have been doing our fitness tests. Pacer. Push ups. Sit ups.

In this time I got to look at motivation.

There was plenty on the boys side. What with the testosterone and the competitive attitude, there was motivation there.

I really wish I could say the same for the girls.

I'm not saying there was no motivation, but it was certainly lacking.

There was the motivation for a good grade too, but really it was more of a competition for most.

But there is one thing I've been dying to see the results of.

You see every day before class we walk laps around the gym. So far, everyday we've been walking in the same direction. One of these days, I want to get changed first and start walking the opposite way.

Will they follow the leader or continue on with what they always did?

Or perchance I'm not the first, what if I just walk the other way on purpose? Would anyone follow me then?

I would like to know.

Just to Let You Know

I do have some blog posts in mind, I've just yet to post them.

I'll try to get a legit post up soon though.

Also here is a joke:

Thunderbird's Favorite Posts: Part 1

I wasn't kidding when I said a flashback to some of my favorite posts sounded like a good idea.

Anyways, I've made a crap ton of posts. Some quality and some...not, but as with everything I have my favorites (Except MLP: FiM. I don't know who my favorite is.)

So here we have it, my favorite posts (In order of post date)

1. So maybe...
My third post I'd ever made. It's the first time I start to suspect that perchance I am a blogger after all. I also love how many typos and grammatical errors it has, it shows I've come a long way.

I still do that stuff, just not as often now.

2. Punny
Fourth post, and also the first time I pick a topic and just write about it. Plus, fish jokes!

3. Take 3
I just think that part with the Black chicks is funny.

4. 14 is a Number After a Lucky Number
The first of many mentions of my favorite show. I also continue acting like someone is reading my blog which I find amusing...

5. I'm a Bull in a China Shop
I like this post for a couple of reasons. One, I'm continuing with my title references. And two, it reminds me I need to make that list of 100 things I wouldn't want to be doing.

6. I'm on a roll...
The post following Bull in a China Shop. I just like it. Not sure why.

7. Arrrrrrr
I really love the conversations I have on Twitter with her. She recently got back into tweeting so here's hoping we have more chats like this!

8. The Geek in The Warehouse T-Shirt
The first mention of...THAT WORD, and also of Sax Carr: The greatest person since sliced bread...(what?)

9. Sharpness
And I still have that scar. It's my favorite scar. (I only have two scars...)

10. Nosy
I mean, I typed the whole thing with my nose. It's a proud moment for me...

11. Life is...
That first saying.

12. Dam Safety
Probably one of my favorite holidays...

13. WAREHOUSE 13
One reason. FOUR HOUSE PLANTS

14. Math
Why? Because I think it shows how much a complete dork I am. I complained on my blog and verbally enough for my mom to go outside I pull the stupid plastic out of the trash.

15. In which I pretended I was Jewish for several hours and the story of my being
I like this post. But the only reason it made my favorite is because I seriously don't remember what that other thing was.

16. First Impressions Are Everything*
It's a legitimately funny post. Which is rare. Also, the fact that it was almost "First Impressions Ate Everything" makes me chuckle.

17. Lessons Learned
I liked the concept of this post enough to make another like it.

18. Contented and Sammy Keyes
I love this post! (Not really, this is just an excuse to make you go read stories on my FictionPress)

19. Pride
I say a lot of words and they actually all make sense.

20. So
That is what I do when I'm bored.

21. Light and Dabbles(ugh)
I like this post, and at the same time I hate it because of it's use of a certain word.

22. Every. Fraking. Year.
It's a rather angsty post. I need to remember that next time I'm writing...

23. Say What?
I mean...I gave it it's own PAGE.

24. #AllisonScag4Cassie
I still believe everything I said in that post. Especially the part about Megan Fox.

25. Healthy Living
I know this post doesn't seem like much to you guys probably, but this IS my favorites...I just like it because not only was I right about crashing and burning but...I totally just made a blog post in the middle of Health and that makes me laugh.

26. Idiom Idiot
Because every single word of it is true.

27. They Found Two Bears
Mostly because I never did explain it or the one before
I don't plan on doing that now either. (:

28. Reflections
It's such a sweet little sappy post.

29. 100
It does contain the idea for this post after all. Also this line "I'd like to start it by thanking all the loyal reader that may or may not exist." Loyal reader... XD

30. So...
I actually really like a crap ton of my more recent posts but anywho, this post. The face...
In more recent times I made a collage of all the unflattering photos of me.

31. Tony
Probably one of my longest posts...man I love telling that story.

32. Changing*
And I did make a fort and it was awesome.

33. Think Think Think
My blog is like Warehouse 13. It gets better as it goes.

34. Lessons Learned: The Sequel
It should come as no surprise that this is on here.

35. Fancasting
Again, I say words and they make sense.

36. BREAKING NEWS
This post is funny and sad. Because I really miss my old phone...

37. Pine Trees
I ended up being correct about Mr. Know-it-all. The questions we were asked were "What is the temperature outside?" "How many cars are outside right now?" Stupid number things. I was also lucky enough to have a good group for our Team Improv performance. We weren't playing to win but...we totally would have.

38. Stuff, Bags, and Gender Profiling
The whole part where I accidentally said mech is just like an added bonus to it all.

39. Powerpuff, Parakeets, and Parkitcharlie
Good story telling here...

40. An Entire Week of Fun Smooshed into One Post
Because it was a ton of fun that's why.

41. The title of this post is extremely long just because I am curious to see just how long I can actually make it. Also, I talk...erm rant, about sunscreen.
If only for that title...

42. Thunderbird's Favorite Posts: Part 1
Heheh...

So yeah.

That ended up being more of a "These are posts I like."

Maybe in Part 2 I'll have them battle it out till we have an even top 10 favorite posts.

Anyways I leave you with this Dora moment.

Which post is YOUR favorite? Tell me why in the comments!

An Entire Week of Fun Smooshed into One Post

I'm back!

Currently I'm laying comfortably on my bed with my laptop stretching my legs.

I suppose it's time I reveal the 'big' secret...I was in...

COLORADO! Durango to be exact.

Boy was that an adventure and a half.

When we arrived at the cabin, home base for the week, I was assaulted with a slow-motion reunion hug by my cousins,* Anna and Julia. This I expected, since they are my favorite cousins and that's just what we do.

They were watching for me on the balcony

I checked out the place. Of course Anna, Julia and I got the basement. That could probably be considered our natural habitat as once we go downstairs we usually aren't seen again till it's time to eat. In our room downstairs we had a large wardrobe. I opened it out of curiosity and then after staring into it I did the logical thing and climbed inside.

No Narnia. But the fact that we could sit inside it would come into play later on.

Another important discovery was found inside a bin of toys.

Google images is my friend

This rug.

Okay. There were no pucks or whatever else goes with shuffleboard in the bin. So we just kinda stared at it for awhile, after some creative logic we spread it out on the floor and started dancing.

It says 'Shuffle Zone'

What else were we supposed to do???

Then we hung up a sign saying it was required by law to shuffle in the shuffle zone. The rug was placed at the bottom of the stairs and left there for the rest of the trip.

We spent the evening catching up and playing I Spy Spooky Mansion Deluxe.
And Still Pond

And then mashing the two together.**

That night we ate in.

The next day was spent talking, playing with legos, and watching Disney Movies. We also watched Barbie: Life in The Dreamhouse.

Surprisingly funny...

We ate out that night.
There were a few notable moments at dinner.

Julia's Soda Confusion.
When the guy came back to refill Julia's glass of Dr. Pepper this happened

Waiter: What do you have in here?
Julia: *looks at empty cup* Uhhhh...ice?
Waiter: Just ice?
Julia: OH! No! Dr. Pepper!

The next key moment happened instantly after. I had gotten root beer (which came in a bottle and therefore with a glass of ice to pour it in.)

Waiter: *points to glass of ice* You just have water in here?
Me: Uhhhhhh...sure

The final interesting moment happened at dessert.

I was reading the menu and instead of reading what it said, which was

Featured Flavor from The Durango Creamery

I read

Featured Flavor from The Durango Cemetery

We then ordered it like that, much too the confusion of our waiter.
The featured flavor was vanilla with bits of kit kat by the way...

The next day we attempted to scare Karen, but the family was out Jeeping so they didn't get back soon enough.

The most important part of this day though, was Marble Hornets.

We watched all 63 videos of the webseries with times ranging from 30 seconds to 15 minutes. It's an expertly done webshow. Perfect balance of mystery and horror.

We took a break around Entry 58 and went downtown.
We walked up and down whatever street it was we parked on. I bought the third book of the Mysterious Benedict Society. It started raining and we went home.

The next day we made our movie, something that we do every time we meet. We also scared Karen by jumping out of the wardrobe from earlier. We were paranoid for most of that day due to Marble Hornets. Lunch (leftovers from the second night) had accidentally been frozen into a solid block that took about half an hour to de-freeze.

Thursday was Mesa Verde day. Which was kind of cool due to the fact it was the Anasazi cliff dwellings and well...Anaz...

I got a book at the place we stopped for breakfast, Plato and a Platypus walked into a Bar.

A philosophy book, which only now I see the irony in.

Before the tour we saw a bus with the tag line "Goin' Places with Smilin' Faces" which Karen made the official phrase of Anna, Julia, and I.

We ended up taking the Balcony House tour. Highlights of the tour included a thirty foot ladder and a twelve foot tunnel.

We premiered our movie that night.

Friday was our last full day, and the one that had the most events.

We were forced on a hike up to mushroom rock.

Which in all honesty was climbing up a mountain.

Yes that tiny house was where we started.
When we got back I convinced Karen to watch Marble Hornets. She watched Entry #1 and then we decided to move downstairs.

Unfortunately our doors had randomly locked and it took about thirty minutes for us to get in.** We had about twenty minutes to celebrate our room access before we left and went into town again. We checked out the Toy Store and bought tiny animals and bells. While we were looking about the (overpriced) candy shop, Karen decided she needed to use the restroom.

So we headed over to the Information Center. The second we walked inside I exclaimed in excitement that the benches looked cool. While Karen took care of business we sat down and rang our bells for a little bit before we were called over by the people at the front desk.

Apparently they wanted us to be the first to draw on their new chalkboard. She handed us some sidewalk chalk and told us to draw things we loved about Durango.

Karen freaked out a bit when she finished her "seated activity"*** but calmed down once we explained why.

When we left I told Anna and Julia that they probably had decided we would be the perfect ones to start the wall from the second I shouted "LOOK AT THE BENCHES!"

We came back to home base and hung out for a bit before going back for dinner.

At dinner, my cousins and I sang ALL of Winter Wrap up, joked about our trip, and confused the heck out of yet another waiter.

Julia: Do you have root beer?
Waiter: Yes we do.
Julia: In that case I'd like a Dr. Pepper.

After dinner we headed back to the house and stayed up until 2am.

Saturday morning we packed up and left (I also had been retweeted by @radiomadison so woot!)

Finally I'm home and ready to slide back into a lifestyle of doing nothing.

I'll also be getting back to regular posts

Hopefully they won't all be this long. (:

** "A black picture frame!" "Fell on a still pond."
***The sign that hung above the toilets at our house informed us they were 'low flow' and so we might want to consider flushing twice during our seated activity to avoid clogs. It was a running joke through the week.

Out at Home*

I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE A POST TODAY! I WAS ABOUT TO GO TO BED!

This won't be much of a post really, I'll make two tomorrow okay?

Last night I thought a bug invaded my fort. It crawled on my arm and I freaked out and flipped shiz. I then proceeded to sweep the area with a flashlight until I was certain it was gone. This morning it occurred to be that it was probably just a piece of fuzz.

The moral of the story is, don't jump to conclusions. You might need the sleep.

Anyways, that next morning my mom woke me up at 7 to tell me she wasn't waking me up at 7.

*facepalm*

*Oh it's just this webcomic I'm reading. No not Questionable Content. Another one. OUT AT HOME.

Tony

This, surprisingly, has nothing to do with the Tonys. No. Not that.

No, I was thinking to myself about what my next post would be about and I realized it's been a while since I told you a story. A nice true story from my wonderful life.

So, I dug deep into the depths of my grey thinking matter and found just the story to tell you all.

The story of Tony.

It happened a few years ago, the week after my spring break. My fave cousins, Anna and Julia*, were here as it was their spring break. We had decided to go out to lunch, our families did, so they picked me up to school and we drove to Red Lobster.

Now here's what I can tell you about Red Lobster. They have really good biscuits.

That's about all I could say before this fated day. Now I can tell you that they have Tony.

So we arrived at the restaurant. Hungry, thirsty, a little bit excited to see each other in my cousins and I's case. We are seated and introduced to our waiter, a friendly fellow named Tony. Par normal restaurant standards, he took our drink orders. Now this is, in the story of Tony, his call to action. Or something.

Anna, Julia, and I get lemonade. There's nothing particularly special about it, we all suck it down like it's the first liquid we've seen in days. Being a good waiter Tony comes back and fills our glasses back up.

And that's when it gets weird.

Because every time he passed by since then, he filled our lemonade.

After that first gulp I never got the drink down past halfway. Heck, at one point he filled my glass, I took a drink, and he freaking filled it again!

I don't know what he learned in his training, maybe he was told that the costumer should never have to ask for a refill and he just took it to heart and soul. But I swear, if I would have managed to drink the whole glass, Tony would have dropped dead.

To make matters worse, we happened to have an inside joke about a Tony.** So Julia was reciting it, drawling out his name right as he walked past. He didn't say anything about it, or react in any other way than filling our glasses.

It got to the point that every time he walked past, we all pretended to be taking a really long drink. Which worked up until the point where he just stood there waiting.

So here I am, about to burst from to much lemonade consummation, and I'm taking a ridiculously long drink. Tony is just standing next to me holding the pitcher of lemonade and staring at me. So I hold his gaze, willing him to leave, and he just stands there. Finally I gave up the charade (because I needed to breath) and put down the glass. He filled it and moved on.

Really, in conclusion, I didn't finish my food because I was too full of lemonade.

I suppose he's the best service I'll ever have. I think of him often, normally when I'm staring at my empty cup of soda wishing for a refill.

*These are the cousins that I build legos with and stuff. They're really awesome
**The joke involves a garbage disposal being mistaken for a lemur named Tony...you'd of had to been there...

100

This post is very special. It just happens to be the 100th post I've made!

So I'd like to start it by thanking all the loyal reader that may or may not exist. 100 guys, looks like I am a bit of a blogger after all.

If this were a TV show I would proceed to have flashbacks to all my favorite posts.

It's not.

However that is a good idea and I will be using that soon.

Actually I just wanted to let you know (for no real reason) that I'm having a Warehouse 13 party today!

Complete with Twizzlers and cookies. It'll be a blast. But not...literally...

Also, today is June 1. Which means yesterday was DAM SAFETY AWARENESS DAY!

That's my favorite holiday.

A new blog from not me

It's from me in a sense that I am the body that wrote it.

Not the mind.

You see I realized that I lose the joker near night and suddenly I'm a philosopher. Anaz (AH-naz) So if you want a blog filled with deep thinking, poetry, and some dark humor...

You swear (I laugh)

Swearing makes me laugh. Whether it's "God-Dammit mike!" or "Seriously, you're gonna take up the whole fucking hallway?" I will be laughing.

Even if I'm not smiling, trust me, I'm dying inside.

Unexpected swearing makes me laugh harder.

"And I had finally stopped thinking about Tori...fuck."

"So I got this new car and well shit."

"Damn you Republicans!" (Known to some as Hoover you Robinson)

I think I'm just really weird but, hey if it's funny to you too, tell me

Light and Dabbles(ugh)

Today has had it's ups and downs I will admit, but right now I feel pretty, light.

I had to do a complete over through of my room. The politicians Clutter and Chaos needed to be put out of power! I had to take back what is mine. Occupy Thunderbird's room!

Yeah so I had been reading a bit of news regarding OWS...what's it to you!?!

But the thing that has made me feel light (other then the sudden appearance of my floor) is I got my computer back! I'm not posting from there because even though I just got a plug-in Internet connection, I have to put in the network key and it's a bunch of random letters and numbers so I can't really ask as I'm supposed to be sleeping.

Well in other news that really long run-on sentence I just produced is why I have editors for CPRB. Speaking of which having the computer back means no more shall I get bouts of inspiration I can do nothing about.

Did I say bouts? I feel like bursts would have made more sense there. All things considered anyway. Like how I question bouts in my vocab but not shall...(:

Bouts huh? That reminds me of how much I HATE the word 'dabbles'
I don't really know why but something about the word just...ugh...I hate it. Dabbles. Agh. Why yes I do dabble in the fine arts. Blagh! Go fall in a hole. But a shallow one because I don't hate you. I hate dabbles. And dabbling. And dabbled, dabble, so yes pretty much any form of dabble. Not too shallow though, just enough so you don't die. Unfortunately I've been too lazy to look up other words so...dabble...has to be used. I once wrote dabbles of stories. Which is actually how I discovered my burning hatred for the word. Dabble. It's a ridiculous word, but not a fun ridiculous like say...Razzmatazz. It's a stupid snobby word. I extremely dislike this post for it's overuse of dabble.

One could say I dabble in the art of dabble hating.

That one could go fall in a shallow hole.

More Then You Realize

I asked for my computer back. I had done what she asked, went a week straight without missing homework. Granted my week started last TUESDAY instead of Monday but I waited out an extra day just for that.

Apparently that doesn't work. I have to start on Monday. I'm not allowed to 'pick and choose'. I must be held accountable for late work that wasn't turned in BEFORE the deal had been made.

It really pisses me off.

Not because I can't go online, or tweet, or get on Facebook, or blog. No my iPod does all that.

It bugs me more then I let on.

I. Can't. Write.

Sure there's paper and pencil but I've said it before, I need to star typing it up. Once I have typed it I can whisk it away to my editors(friends) edit a bit myself.

Only then will I feel comfortable with sharing it.

I did what they asked, and I really am trying.

Sheesh it's arguments like my parent's though that are the reasons the carrot and the stick don't work.

Maybe it's just the fact that I've been stumbling psychology a lot more lately but here's how I see it; they set me a goal 'Go a week without missing any homework' my reward was I get back my computer. So I go and do just that. My reward is that I am told I didn't do what they ask and need to try again.

Though I'd like to think I get what they are saying, my pride and psychology articles tell me otherwise.

What this is teaching my mind is, in the simplest way of putting it, it does you no good to do as you're told.
Yeah, that thinking will fix my grades.

Maybe they were expecting overnight miracles. They wanted me to pop out of bed, sing a song, do my chores, all while preaching the word of the lord! (Okay probably not that last part, maybe the song though...xD)

Here's the thing about that. Surprise surprise, that's not how it works.

See another thing my articles taught me is this; One of the worst things you can do is force yourself to do something. Why? If you don't want to do something you tend to get distracted which leads to boredom which leads to sloppy rushed work. (Yes I said distraction leads to boredom, it's not the other way around) In order for this homework habit to work I need to get why this is important. I already know the obvious, no homework no A's. But years of getting by with it have taught my brain otherwise.

Right now, it's baby steps. Understand the importance of the material, get that there is and will continue to be homework. Then I can work on a habit of doing the work. I already know the second part and I'm working on the second. Old habits die hard so they say.

What I hope you got from my rant-like post was this A person can't change overnight, so don't expect them to. Change takes time.

Also, I really want my computer back.
